The Heat Guard is a tubular tie containing polymer crystals. For first time use or, when dry, soak tie in lukewarm water for 20 - 30 minutes. The crystals absorb water, expanding to more than 400 times their original weight.

Tie may be hand washed and should be left to air dry when not in use. Do not leave wet tie in sealed plastic bag as it will mildew over time. Tie can be re-soaked daily. Over soaking the tie could result in crystals leaking from stressed seams. Do not over soak. Life span is approximately 1 ½ -2 years.
