The Shop is proudly operated by the Health Care Foundation and is located within the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The Shop is more than just a convenient place to pick up a gift or a quick snack. The Shop is a social enterprise every purchase directly supports patient care, medical services, and community health programs across the province. All proceeds are reinvested into initiatives that make a real difference in people’s lives. From funding vital medical equipment to supporting essential health programs, your support helps strengthen health care in Newfoundland and Labrador. The Shop is made possible by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. By shopping with us or volunteering, you are helping improve care for patients and families throughout the province.
Our Impact
Through the work of the Health Care Foundation, funds raised support adult hospitals and health care centres operated by NL Health Services (Eastern Zone). Each year, these facilities provide approximately one million patient encounters. Proceeds from The Shop help fund equipment, technology, research, and programs across a wide range of care areas including mental health and addictions, cardiac care, women’s health, diagnostic services, rehabilitation, long-term care, and emergency services.

Mission
The Health Care Foundation raises funds and builds strong, sustainable relationships to support the highest level of adult health care through investments in equipment, research, education, and patient comfort.
